What we offer for groups:
Elterwater Hostel is situated in a beautiful location, located on the edge of a small, quiet village.
We offer 3 star accommodation in bunk rooms of various sizes from 2 to 6-bed rooms, allowing us to offer flexibility in sleeping arrangements and leader rooms.
We are about 4 miles from Ambleside, and 40 minutes from the M6, junction 36. We can also be reached by train, being 8 miles from Windermere railway station.
There is adequate parking for minibuses in the village and coaches on the edge, although we have no parking available on site.
We are open all-year-round to groups booked in advance with substantial discounts available for off-season bookings.
The area offers safe, local walks on well-made paths as well as higher level walks for the more adventurous and competent.
Health and safety:
We carry public liability insurance to the value of £5 000 000, and have extensively risk assessed our site and processes and have a comprehensive fire risk assessment (copies available on request)
Our manager has over 25 years of experience working in hostels and with groups, and we employ friendly, experienced, staff trained in food hygiene, health and safety, fire safety, safeguarding children, and first aid.
A full catering service is available, with nutritious, home-cooked food (allergies and intolerances accommodated) and we have never held lower than a 5* Scores on the Doors (maximum food hygiene rating). We also have a separate kitchen adequately equipped for well-organised self-catering.
Planning visits are encouraged to allow you to familiarise yourself with the hostel and the area.
