We are sorry to announce that the lovely Val is leaving us this week. We will miss her and her wealth of local knowledge but wish her well in her travels.
This is what she says:
“After five and a half glorious months at Elterwater Hostel, I am swapping Cumbria for Chamburi, Thailand and going to work at an International School over there. I’ve spent my time here wisely, having completed my Wainwrights and finally visited the magnificent Long Meg stone circle up near Penrith. But for now it’s hello Doi Inthanon (I am of course referring to the highest mountain in Thailand and not the restaurant in Ambleside) and goodbye Langdale. Many thanks to Nick, Charlie, Pete, Christine and Alan.”
We hope to post details of her replacement here shortly but in the short term Lisa who worked Sundays for much of last year will be be helping us out.
